Angela Parrish

Angela Parrish's career reflects her unique combined experience as a consultant and leader for two multinational companies, a founder and supporter of inner city programs in the Tampa Bay area, and a practitioner of mindfulness since 1999.
Angela's "first" career was as a tax consultant for Price Waterhouse Cooper, followed by twenty years with human resources leader Aon Hewitt, where she began and grew the institutional investment consulting practice for Aon and served as global practice leader, retiring in 2011. She also developed and taught financial education programs to a large and diverse group of organizations. Angela's clients included small businesses, governmental agencies, not-for-profit organizations, universities, and Fortune 500 companies.
During that time, while happily raising her own son, Angela also founded the Tampa Bay Inner City Outings group, an outreach arm of the Sierra Club whose mission is to expose youth from inner city and underserved populations in and around Tampa Bay to the wonders of the natural environment.
Angela began studying mindfulness meditation in 1998, attending retreats and studying with teachers in the Zen and Vipassana traditions. Together with a group of other committed practitioners, Angela helped support and grow a small meditation group in Tampa that today is the heart of the Florida Community of Mindfulness (FCM), one of the largest mindfulness practice centers in the southeast. She is currently Executive Director of FCM.
Angela began creating and teaching classes for FCM in 2010, including Introduction to Mindfulness & Meditation, Leaving Stress Behind, Financial Wellbeing, and Mindful Dialogue. She has completed Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) training and teacher practicums with the UMASS Medical School Center for Mindfulness and the University of California-San Diego Mindfulness-Based Professional Institute, respectively, and is a fully Qualified MBSR teacher. She enjoys using her background working with many diverse types of organizations to bring mindfulness training into the workplace.
